Shop Local Saturday Highlight: Latin American Bakery & Cafe
*Re-Branding the Title!
Welcome back to this week’s #ShopLocalSaturday; where I highlight local eats and shops that I have visited. This week is featuring Latin American Bakery & Cafe in Miami, Florida!
Still on my trip in Miami; this was the first night I was there, I was with a group of friends, and we decided to pick up dinner from a nearby place called Latin American Bakery & Cafe.
What I ended up getting was called ‘Bistec Empanizado de Pollo’, or breaded chicken steak, with a side of rice and beans.
* Disclaimer : Image above was taken from Cocina Criolla Cubana’s Facebook page. But my dish was very similar to the what is pictured. Apologies; my phone was unable to record, as it was charging in another location from where I was enjoying my chicken.*
It definitely was something I never had before; chicken steak. But it is exactly how it sounds; It looks like a steak, but it’s breaded chicken (so literal). Don’t let how it looks turn you off from the taste. After cutting a slice of the chicken steak; it was very crispy, and even though it was sort of thinner than what I’m used to, compared to a chicken cutlet. It was not too juicy; as it would distract from the taste and texture of the chicken. The texture was not too tough, it was fairly easy to chew it, and was easy to savor the taste of it.
To end, I would recommend the chicken steak from Latin American Bakery & Cafe. Though I would like to try more dishes and the flan they had displayed looked very good, so would definitely love to return to try their flan and other dishes; should the opportunity arises again. If you’re ever in the West Miami area; please give Latin American Cafe a try and let me know your experience and takeaway.
As a bonus; if you do wanna get the most bang for your buck; I’ll leave you with the following options below with my links, so that you can earn cash back on what you order while you’re at *sample store*.
*I’m really glad that I was able to help my friends get paid on their food for Latin American; as seen below:
Because, this means that everyone benefits; customers get paid, businesses get more exposure and business owners get more revenue and a potential for a loyal and repeat customer.*
Know of any other local shops that you enjoy going to that should be highlighted? Leave a comment and let me know!
And as always,
Remember to always support your local establishments! They are a part of your community!
